Meanwhile, OT professionals can leverage the platform’s support for traditional OT technologies like IEC 61131-3 programming to tackle OT challenges, including minimizing downtime, predictive maintenance, and enhancing production efficiency. Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
The SCADAPack 47xi offers robust Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) capabilities to enhance security and manage access efficiently. RBAC allows administrators to define user roles and permissions, ensuring that individuals can only access and perform tasks within their designated scope. This setup minimizes security risks by preventing unauthorized access to critical functions and sensitive information.
With RBAC, IT and OT teams can manage user accounts (locally via local user database and remotely via Active Directory) and oversee syslog activity with precision. IT teams benefit from centralized user management, while OT users maintain focused access to control operations and system monitoring using tools such as Syslog. The SCADAPack 47xi’s RBAC functionality supports seamless collaboration between IT and OT domains, promoting a secure, converged environment.
Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) + Linux
With security features woven directly into the core of the SCADAPack 47xi, the combination of an RTOS with a Linux operating system ensures open SCADAPack 47xi to legacy and next-gen solutions and enables remote system maintenance with increased energy efficiency.

Seamless RealFlo Integration
The RealfloTM Flow Computer is a software solution that works with SCADAPackTM Smart RTUs to provide natural gas, pure gas, and liquid flow measurement for applications such as well test, allocation measurement, production optimization, and well pad control.
Realflo is easy-to-use, API 21.1 and 21.2-compliant, and delivers robust cost-effective gas and liquid measurement for gathering, midstream, and transmission applications. Realflo includes a security lock feature to support TSA Pipeline Directive Part II Compliance.
The SCADAPack Smart RTU is a flexible and powerful platform that, with the Realflo Flow Computer, can support up to 20 flow runs with IEC 61131-3 logic, to perform control and monitoring tasks for applications such as production optimization, tank monitoring, and well pad and flow control. The Realflo Flow Computer can report information using ModbusTM, Enron Modbus, and DNP3 protocols. SCADAPack Smart RTUs are available with the Realflo Flow Computer application installed and pre-licensed from the factory and licenses may be added later in the field.
